1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 cup flour
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 cup oats
1/2 cup Earth Balance butter, softened
3/4 cup marionberry preserves (or any fruit preserves)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease an 8-inch baking dish. In a bowl, combine brown sugar, flour, baking soda, salt and oats; blend. Add butter and mix well with hands. Press about two-thirds of the mixture into the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Spread the jam on top. Spoon the remaining oatmeal mixture on top of that. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes; cool before cutting into squares.
